God is love. However, in the Bible there are things God is said to do that seem to be clearly unloving. This teaching explains simply and thoroughly the “idiom of permission,” a commonly occurring idiom of Semitic languages which attributes to God responses of people. Understanding this idiom reveals that God is indeed the righteous and loving God we know Him to be.
