One aspect of prophecy that has not been well understood by Christians is that it is almost always conditional in nature. God is often calling us to greater things, but because He also gave us free will, our behavior can effect whether or not a prophecy comes to pass. Examples of prophecy in the Bible reveal the often unspoken “if” in personal prophecy.
