It is important to every Christian that we understand the meaning of righteousness, especially as it is used in the New Testament. While the uses of “righteousness” were often blended in the Old Testament and Gospels, the word has two distinct meanings in the New Testament Epistles: 1.) having a right standing in the sight of God, and 2.) doing right by God and others.
